Dry pumps

Dry pumps are a wide category of pumps for various applications: for water, sewage, coolant or transformer oil.

Dry pumps are built outside the chambers of the pumped liquid, and the medium is supplied to them through pipelines connected to the suction port in the pump body. Depending on the design, dry pump motors can be integrated with the hydraulic impeller on one shaft or disconnected via a clutch. Dry pump motors most often have partially open housings with radiators or special impellers for cooling with a forced stream of air surrounding the motor. 

Their greatest advantage is the ability to continuously visually monitor engine operation and easy service access.
